Post forming happens in two stages. First, a board is cut with a rounded edge profile. Then a laminate sheet is heated until it softens and is bent over that profile.
The adhesive sits between the two surfaces. It has to grip fast, because a heated laminate tries to straighten out as it cools. It also has to keep holding, because that pull never fully goes away.
That is the main difference from flat lamination adhesive work. A flat sheet only needs even contact. A post formed edge keeps the bond under steady tension at the bend.
