Paper tubes and cores are produced by spirally or convolute winding multiple layers of kraft paper, board, or specialty paper strips around a mandrel, bonding each layer to the next with adhesive. The adhesive must penetrate paper fibres adequately, provide enough open time for layer alignment, set fast enough to sustain machine speeds, and contribute to the final compression strength of the core.
Paper tube adhesives differ from general paper adhesives in solids content, viscosity profile, and tack requirements. We formulate grades matched to different paper weights, winding speeds, and end-use strength targets.
